It came from the deep, a refreshing riff on a highball that will please even the healthiest of party guests.
Tools: mixing glass, Strainer
Glassware: Goblet or Collins glass
- 2oz CH Vodka Glass
- 1.5 oz Matcha Honey Syrup
- 2 Mint Sprigs
- .5 to 2oz Club Soda
For matcha honey: Combine 2 parts Hot Water with 1 part Honey to make a base syrup (1 oz hot water to .5oz honey), stir in 2 teaspoons Matcha powder. You can find matcha at Whole Foods and most other grocery stores. If you don’t have access to matcha you can use 1oz strongly brewed green tea with .5oz honey.
Drop mint sprigs to the bottom of a mixing glass, add ice
Combine CH Vodka and Matcha Honey over ice in mixing glass, stir
Add Club Soda to mixing glass, then pour whole mixture (or roll it) into a Goblet or Collins Glass
Build Your Bar Knowledge: Honey Syrup, or Runny Honey, brings a perfect sweet bite to a cocktail. Regular Honey would seize as soon as it hit ice, instead mix 2 parts honey to 1 part hot water to retain flavor but not get in the way of your drinking. If you want an extra roasted flavor, substitute with light Agave Nectar or use a still hot tea as the hot water.
Hack: This can make a great hot drink as well. Leave out the matcha and club soda, combine the same proportions of CH Vodka, Honey, 1 mint sprig, and one lemon wedge in a mug, add 4oz of hot green tea and stir.
